Abstract

This reaserch is aimed to investigate the character nationality values on When English Rings a Bell (revised 2017) textbook for VIII grade of junior high school based on the curriculum 2013, that published by ministry of education and culture. This reaserch used content analysis method to analyze the character nationality on the textbook, and also did an interview to the English teachers were conducted teacher preceptions about the character nationality values of student and how it apply on the when English rings a bell (revised 2017) grade VIII textbook in their school for the validity of data to strenght the result of research data. The result of this research showed that the most dominant percentage of character nationality values based on the seven indicators are related to being Love of homeland and nation which found (43%), and it followed by the willingness to sacrifice after the nation (27%), proud of the motley culture (11%), receive the complex (7%), proud of being Indonesian nation (5%), Prioritizing public interest (5%), and the weakness is appreciate thevalues of heroes (0%). It can be concluded that when English rings a bell (revised 2017) textbook already good to use for eight grade student of junior high school in teaching learning process because it has character nationality values in each chapters which correlate to the curriculum 2013 revised.
