Abstract
This study aims to find out: (1) how is the implementation of project-based learning in writing teaching?, (2) what are the main obstacles and challenges in the application of project-based learning in the writing class? This research is a descriptive study that uses qualitative methods. The subjects of this study were students of English language education at nahdlatul ulama university sunan giri bojonegoro for the 2019/2020 academic year who had taken courses in making textbooks. This focus is the analysis of project-based learning on students' writing abilities, precisely in the textbook making class. The result of this research is that they have applied the project-based learning method in the textbook making class and they have a positive perception. Although, they have a positive perception they still have obstacles and challenges, namely the difficulty of understanding pbl regulations and also constrained by signals.
