Abstract
Listening is part of English as a foreign language, a very important skill because it is widely used in everyday life. This means that without hearing, people cannot acquire language because listening provides language input. Learning media is a tool that can help the teaching and learning process so that the meaning and messages conveyed become clearer and educational or learning objectives can be achieved effectively and efficiently. This research was based on the background of the phenomenon that supports the lack of learning using media as well as observations of students regarding English language learning at school, especially in listening learning, and obtained the results that students had many difficulties with listening learning. Listen-U Web in English language learning is a technology that allows students and teachers to access online videos via a web browser. Listen-U web learning media will be very interesting and not boring because is not just learn to listen to the audio but can watch the video. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using website-based listening learning media or Listen-U and to determine the suitability of the media used for students at SMP N Model Terpadu Bojonegoro. This research is a type of Research and Development research with a Borg and Gall research design. Data is collected through observation, questionnaires, tests that include (pre-test and post-test) and documentation. The results of this research are that the validity of the material gets a score of 4 in the "Valid" category, and the validity of the Media gets a score of 4 in the "Valid" category. Meanwhile, the feasibility of learning media received a score of 4.10 in the "Very Eligible" category. Meanwhile, the pre-test and post-test results mean the pre-test value is 60.69, while the average post-test value is 87.58. This shows that the post-test score is better than the pre-test score or that learning using Listen-U is more effective than using audio. The effectiveness of the website-based listening test video learning media or Listen-U with IK (success indicator) is 93%.
