Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of Google Classroom in distance speaking learning. This research was conducted on the eleventh grade students of Islamic private high school in Gayam. The study used qualitative methods to analyze students' perceptions of the use of Google Classroom in distance speaking learning. Researchers took 15 students as research samples for the questionnaire and 10 students for interviews. From the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that the questionnaire data showed that students at Islamic private high school in Gayam showed positive responses from students, some were negative due to the lack of interaction with teachers and students. This can be seen from the percentage score of each aspect. Students' perception of google classroom in speaking class about students' perception of using Google Classroom in speaking class is 10 students or 66.67% and students' perception of students' challenges in using Google Classroom in speaking class is 40%, all of which are in good category. Strongly agree and agree have the highest percentage of positive statements. While the results of the interviews showed that students did not understand the material and network connection problems in the pandemic era.
