Abstract

The Independent Curriculum provides flexibility for educators to create quality learning that suits the needs and learning environment of students. This research analyzed perspective teachers and students in English classroom in Vocational High School in Bojonegoro. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative to answer research questions in this research. The subjects of this research are 100 students has been taken for questionnaires and 3 students for interviews, and 3 English teachers for interviews in SMK Negeri 1 Bojonegoro, SMK Negeri 2 Bojonegoro, and SMK Negeri 3 Bojonegoro. The researcher used observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The researcher used three significant data analysis phases: reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. For data validity, the researcher used triangulation. The results showed that the teachers adapted to the implementation independent curriculum, teachers are exempt to deliver material from various media and be evaluated related to infrastructure, learning tools, and collaboration between teachers and students. The students understood more and used the independent curriculum because it gave a free search for the material learning.
