Abstract

This research aimed to explore the views of EFL students and to find out the challenges & obstacles in the implementation of Think-Pair-Share strategy in reading comprehension. Think-Pair-Share was cooperative learning that requires students to work together to solve a problem. The participant of the research was 24 undergraduate students majoring in English language Education. The techniques for obtaining the data were doing interviews and distributing questionnaires. The questionnaire results showed 70.8% of students agreed that Think-Pair-Share was a good alternative technique for reading comprehension, and 12.5% of students felt pressured during implementing the Think-Pair-Share strategy in reading. Then, the interview results showed most students admitted that implementing the Think-Pair-Share strategy in reading was practical because it was enjoyable and helped them to learn. Thus, EFL students have positive experiences during the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share strategy in reading comprehension.
