Pengadaan Pojok Baca Sebagai Upaya Membudayakan Literasi Membaca Siswa MI Islamiyah Tuban

Reading literacy is a very important activity for students to gain a breadth of knowledge. However, not all students have a high interest in reading literacy. One of them is that students at MI Islamiyah Tuban also do not have a high interest in reading literacy. The low reading literacy of this child is influenced by internal factors and external factors. Included in the internal factor is the motivation that arises from within to read. While external factors are the child's learning environment or school environment. To increase children's interest and desire to read, it is an innovation to increase students' interest in reading literacy. One of the innovations made is by holding a reading corner. The purpose of providing a reading corner is to increase students' interest in reading so that reading activities will cultivate students' self. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The research procedure carried out is to carry out various stages, namely identifying problems, limiting problems, establishing research focus, collecting data, and analyzing data. This research was conducted by following the procedure so that a research result was obtained that to cultivate students' reading literacy there must be an innovation, namely by holding a reading corner that is easily accessible to students because it is placed in the corner of the class so that it can be done at any time whether under the supervision of the educator or independently. With this reading corner, it can increase students' reading literacy so that reading literacy becomes a new culture for students.
