UJI ANTIOKSIDAN SEDIAAN SUSPENSI EKSTRAK SEREH DAPUR (CYMBOPOGON CITRATUS) DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI SUSPENDING AGENT PGA (PULVIS GUMMI ARABICI) DAN CMC-NA (CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSUM NATRIUM)

Suspension is a preparation that contains solid medicinal materials in fine and insoluble form, and dispersed in a carrier liquid. In order to obtain a stable suspension preparation, a suspending agent is needed, suspending agent is a substance that can slow down precipitation and prevent a decrease in particle size, can increase the viscosity of a preparation. The suspension in this study served as an antioxidant. A source of natural antioxidants that can be used as an alternative to herbal medicine is the kitchen lemongrass plant (Cymbopogon citratus). Kitchen lemongrass plant (Cymbopogon citratus) has a variety of bioactive compounds and contains high antioxidants found in the stems and roots. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of PGA and CMC-Na suspending agents on the value of antioxidant activity. The results showed that variations in the concentration of suspending agents can affect antioxidant activity with moderate and very weak activity category results.
