Abstract

The current development of industrial technology is required to produce products that must comply with standards imposed on the international market in large quantities and with efficient processing times, in order to increase the competitiveness of domestic products with industrial products in more developed countries. Then it is necessary to make a quality product on the surface finish. Based on data from surface roughness testing results of turning 6061 aluminum surfaces using variations in spindle speed parameters, namely 190 rpm, 300 rpm, 460 rpm and variations in cooling fluids of mineral water, coolant water and dromus (ratio of dromus to water 1: 3) shows results where the average surface roughness value of the test results is 1.19 μm to 2.62 μm or is included in the roughness value N6 - N7. The smallest roughness value is in the working variation with a spindle speed of 460 rpm and dromus cooling fluid (ratio of dromus to water 1: 3), while the largest roughness value is in the working variation with a spindle speed of 190 rpm and water cooling fluid. The average surface roughness level based on the Face and cylindrical turning, milling and reaming process for aluminum materials is in the range of roughness values between N5 to N12 with an average surface roughness value of 0.4 μm to 50 μm.
