Abstract
Corn is a cereal commodity that has a strategic role and has the opportunity to be developed because of its role as the main source of carbohydrates and protein after rice. Corn husks are abundant but few people manage them. The content in corn husks can be used as an adsorbent. Corn husks are used as an adsorbent which produces iron metal absorption efficiency and an adsorption capacity of 0.499 mg Fe/g. Corn husks are also used as adsorption in laundry wastewater to remove phosphate. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of variations in the size of 60 and 100 mesh activated carbon sieves from corn husks on the morphology of activated carbon nano as a bioadsorbent material and to determine the morphology of activated carbon nano and corn husks as a bioadsorbent material. In this research, laboratory testing was carried out in the form of morphological characterization tests using SEM. From this research, the one that got good results was using the 100 mesh variation because the surface was more porous.
