Abstract

The background of the authors for this research comes from the problem often encountered at the research site about word square studies that deal with student perception, so researchers get the idea to do research on that subject, and here the researchers also see how the teacher applies word square media to the students. The research the writer is conducting here is a descriptive qualitative study using an observational approach. The study these writers did on MA Al-Abror, and the respondents in this study are tenth graders. In gathering the needed data, the writer used interview techniques as well as observation. Whereas in the discussion, a descriptive qualitative method derived from observation. From studies carried out by the author, perception of word square's use of media has had a good effect on students, just as it makes learning and students' understanding easier. The use of word square can make teaching and learning more fun because it can be learned while playing, as well as reduce student boredom with the decline in class, so the student's focus can be under control.
